This is still not an ideal solution though, especially for new players, as some players speedrun the dungeon and leave new players behind, or scums will straight up AFK the whole dungeon, or a premade party memeing the dungeon and ruin the experience for new players. People have lived with this and generally don't have problem with it, as the roulette has been dubbed Netflix DR where people just watch something else while playing. Huge EXP and Tomestone rewards are enough incentives for players to do the roulette, and disabling cutscene skip (which was a relatively recent change) ensures everyone will at least start and end at the same time. MSQ Roulette is a duct tape solution to this problem, but it works. This is fine when ARR is current content, but you can see how it will become a problem when the game expands, as no one will want to repeat those two dungeons and watch the entire cutscene if there's a new player-especially because this cutscene is extremely important to them. The problem comes from the dev teams wanting end of ARR to be this epic, 8 man dungeon with important cutscenes throughout, and ending with final boss that takes over multiple forms-basically like every other Final Fantasy final dungeons. The dungeon itself is fine for what it is, IMO. There are two things we're talking about, first is the dungeons itself (Meridianum and Prae) and the MSQ Roulette. Obviously this is mostly a problem for the roulette-users who wanted exp, but it can affect new players too since sometimes people just quit if they get Castrum due to this. Meanwhile Prae gets the point where it's practically just a movie by the end, yet it gives you a lot more exp than Castrum. Castrum still has you more or less playing as normal, even if there's more cutscenes than usual.

Then there's also that the exp from MSQ Roulette is uneven for the the 2 duties compared to what they require of you.

I'm thinking specifically of the start to Prae where you run through several rooms very fast and everyone ignores the enemies, meaning anyone who doesn't know to rush ahead will just be abandoned to the swarm, and the part later in Prae where every individual player needs to interact with the console to be able to get their mech. was not always the case) but there's various parts in Prae where it's easy to fall behind and not catch up for a while, so people who've done it before may still just destroy bosses before new players can even see them. You obviously have to stop for cutscenes (which. But you can also easily end up with a group that rushes ahead and doesn't explain things to new players, nor cares about letting them have a good experience. You can get a group that's totally helpful and wants new players to have a good experience with it.
